The Transformation
BEFORE
The design
When our design team started collaborating on ideas to create the perfect outdoor space for the Schmidt family our lead designer, Mark, came up with a concept that would blend an elegant aesthetic with functionality.
“Open concept with functional spaces to cater to endless entertaining opportunities,” says Mark.
This is exactly what we delivered.
Bill Schmidt, the owner of Huntleigh Hideaway, expressed his appreciation for Mark’s design by saying, “He came up with an entire video clip of what this would look like, up against the backdrop of our house. It just crystalized what this design would look like and it came true to life.“
DESIGN
Materials selected with a purpose
Every material selected for this project had a key role in making this space unique and sought after. From the craftsmanship of the red cedar pergola to the custom stone veneer, each material was selected with a purpose – to provide a beautiful space that Bill and his family could enjoy for many years to come.
AFTER
The finished project
From the initial design to the final material installation, we’re happy to say that this project is finished and thriving. We’ve heard nothing but good things from Bill and his friends about how the project turned out, and there’s nothing better than to see your creation come to life. Bill emphasized his experience with Elevate Outdoor by saying, “I’d refer Elevate Outdoor to any potential client – if anyone is going to refer someone, they better be strongly convicted that they’re offering up great service. Elevate has done that for me!”
This standout project was proudly featured in the June 2025 issue of Architectural Digest, a testament to our commitment to excellence. Recognition from one of the industry’s most respected publications motivates us to keep raising the bar and delivering a true white glove experience for every client.
FAQs
How much should I expect to spend on landscaping?
The cost of landscaping is difficult to generalize without site-specific information and an understanding of the specific vision for your home. However, Realtors published an article that states that a homeowner can expect to spend between 10-12% of the cost of their home on landscaping. We have found that for many projects, this is a fairly accurate projection, however, many projects are above or below that average based on the homeowner’s objectives, specific site requirements, and finished material selections.
Can I complete my project in phases?
Absolutely. We work with homeowners on a regular basis to create phasing plans for their projects. We will phase a project to meet the clients’ initial budget goals, while maintaining a cohesive design that can be flawlessly completed in 2 stages or 10, based on your specific needs.
How do I care for my plants after they are installed by Elevate?
There’s typically not a lot of maintenance in the first year or two after plants are installed. The above ground growth is minimal as the plants are trying to get root establishment as vigorously as possible.
Most plants require at least a light pruning each year (spring and fall are best) and it may be necessary to remove some dead wood or dormant material after the winter season.
The most important thing you can do to care for your plants is adhere to a strict watering plan, especially within the first year after installation. Click here to learn more about how to water your plants.
