These Brentwood homeowners never set out to design their side yard—they just wanted to stop ignoring it. For some time, it was the space they hurried by, barely noticing, always meaning to do something but never quite sure what.

 

They didn’t care about adding square footage. What they really wanted were simple pleasures: a quiet soak after work, the warmth of a fire, a few putts to clear the mind, a spot to gather with friends.  Little rituals that make a house feel more like home.
